Kathmandu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will meet in Mumbai on Tuesday to jointly inaugurate the Indo-French Innovation Year 2026.
President Emmanuel Macron will pay an official visit to India from February 17-19 to participate in the ‘AI Impact’ Summit being hosted by India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The two leaders will hold bilateral talks at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai at 3:15 pm on February 17. At the same time, they are expected to review the progress made in the India-France strategic partnership. Their discussions will focus on strengthening strategic partnership and diversifying into new and emerging sectors. Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will also exchange views on issues of regional and global importance.
Macron’s visit comes against the backdrop of India-France partnership in defence, space, nuclear energy, climate, education and people-to-people exchanges.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the MoU will be exchanged in Mumbai. Hotel Taj Mahal Palace will host the Indo-French Innovation Forum and the Indo-French Innovation and Cultural Monument will be inaugurated at the Gateway of India.
Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron will visit Mumbai and Delhi during their visit to India from February 16-19. The Year of Innovation 2026 will be celebrated throughout the year in both countries and aims to strengthen cooperation in technology, research and people-to-people exchanges.
French President Macron’s visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi signals the continuity of the India-France Strategic Partnership, with a focus on cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.

From February 16-20, the first-ever International AI Summit “Impact Summit” will be held in New Delhi to shape the global AI future.
