Bale’s promissory note: ‘Land Bank’, from squatters to view towers

. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) senior leader Balendra Shah has released his election manifesto. Balen, who is contesting the election to the House of Representatives from Jhapa-5, has named the manifesto as ‘Jhapa-5 promissory note’.
} The promissory note has pledged to implement projects ranging from infrastructure to agriculture, health, land management and environment with a time-frame. It is mentioned that the projects which are incomplete due to various reasons will be completed on time by setting a deadline.
Commitments have been made to bring the Damak-Rabi Chisapani road into operation at the earliest, construct the Indigenous Nationalities Stadium as per the concept of ‘Our Stadium, Our Identity’ and complete the construction of Birat Buddha Park.TAG_OPEN_div_26 Damak auditorium and view tower would be brought into operation focusing on civic utility.
Erosion and inundation will be controlled by constructing embankments in Ratuwa, Mawa and other rivers.TAG_OPEN_div_24 Rural roads, gender roads and bridges will be upgraded to strengthen overall connectivity. It also envisages developing Damak as an IT hub of eastern Nepal by expanding reliable mobile network and internet services in rural and border areas.
In the agriculture sector, expansion of the Kankai-Ratuwa irrigation project, lift irrigation technology, implementation of ‘labor bank’ concept in every local level, establishment of Gauradaha agriculture storage center and production-based subsidy system will be implemented.TAG_OPEN_div_22 A plan has been put forward to attract youths to agriculture through support price guarantee of agricultural products, insurance, technology-based production system and branding of local products.
} The provision of allocating 10 percent of the beds free of cost for the poor, helpless and homeless patients in the health sector will be strictly implemented. Likewise, the PM’s commitment is to upgrade Damak Hospital to a 300-bed hospital, expand well-equipped health centre in rural areas, run ‘pure water in every house’ programme and ensure 24-hour free ambulance service.
Towards land management, a commission has been formed within 100 days to resolve the problems of landless, landless squatters and unsystematic settlement in Jhapa-5 and a policy has been put forward to resolve it within 100 TAG_OPEN_div_18 0 days.
