 CCTV cameras installed in 79 polling stations

Kanchanpur. CCTV cameras have been installed in 79 polling centres in Kanchanpur district to make the upcoming House of Representatives election free, fair and dignified.

Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur, Madan Koirala, said that CCTV cameras have been installed in 79 of the 132 polling centers in three electoral constituencies of the district.TAG_OPEN_div_14

Likewise, 66 polling stations have been listed as highly sensitive.TAG_OPEN_div_12 According to the administration, the polling stations have been categorized into three levels—hyper-sensitive, sensitive and general. Out of 132 polling stations, 66 polling stations have been categorized as highly sensitive, 40 as sensitive and 26 as general polling stations.

The number of sensitive polling stations is high as Kanchanpur district shares the border with India.TAG_OPEN_div_10 A plan has been put forward to construct a three-tier security cordon to strengthen the security at the polling stations. There are 34 hyper-sensitive polling stations in constituency-1, 14 sensitive and four general polling stations in the district.

Similarly, there are 17 highly sensitive polling stations in Constituency No. 2.TAG_OPEN_div_8 There are 13 sensitive and 13 general polling stations. There are 15 hyper-sensitive, 13 sensitive and nine general polling stations in constituency no 3.
