Kathmandu. Parbat Gurung has joined the voters’ meeting and thank you campaign at a time when the counting of votes for the House of Representatives election 2082 is underway. KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (UML) candidate from Dolakha and former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gurung has thanked the voters at Jiri area on Saturday.

According to the latest vote count, Jagadish Kharel is ahead of Gurung. Kharel is the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Gurung has pledged to respect the final result of the election and will always work for the welfare of the people of Dolakhi. He also expressed gratitude to all the party leaders, cadres, supporters and well-wishers who were involved in the election.

Gurung said, “People’s opinion is the biggest force of democracy. So, whatever the outcome, we respect that mandate. I will always be with the people even after the elections are over. ’

Locals said that it was a positive political practice for the candidates to reach out to the people and express their commitment to be together respecting the people’s mandate.

Locals have praised Gurung’s initiative of expressing gratitude not only after the election but also before the election results are announced.
