Bhadrapur collects Rs 2.70 billion revenue

Kathmandu. The Inland Revenue Office, Bhadrapur, has collected Rs 2.70 billion in revenue in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. This amount is 80.43 percent of the target set for the period.

Chief Tax Officer Gopal Bahadur Thapa said the office had set a target to collect revenue of Rs 3.36 billion by mid-March of the current fiscal year. He further said that only 57.17 per cent of the target was collected so far against the target of collecting Rs 445 million revenue in the month of February.

According to the office, Rs 1.24 billion has been collected from income tax, Rs 973.218 crore from Value Added Tax and Rs 367 million from excise duty in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

Chief Tax Officer Thapa said the market monitoring and other activities could not be carried out effectively of late due to the election to the House of Representatives held on March 4. He said that preparations have been made to continue market monitoring and to run taxpayer-oriented practical tax education program to achieve the target.
