Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Nepali Congress (NC) has selected 20 candidates for the House of Representatives (HoR) election under the proportional representation (PR) system. A meeting of the party’s Central Work Execution Committee presided over by its President Gagan Kumar Thapa and finalized the names of the candidates for the post of member of the House of Representatives.
The meeting has decided to select the candidates on the basis of the number of seats secured by the party. According to the party, 6 candidates from indigenous nationalities, 6 from Khas-Arya group, 1 from Tharu group, 3 from Madhesi group, 3 from Dalit group and 1 from Muslim group have been selected.
Joint General Secretary Bahadur Singh Lama, Karna Bahadur Budha, Yogendra Chaudhary, Uday Shumsher Rana and Prakash Sharan Mahat had put forth their views in the meeting. Omkar Prasad Shrestha, Amrit Aryal and Dr. Omkar Prasad Shrestha are the members of the committee. Gopal Dahit, Rajendra Kumar KC and spokesperson Devraj Chalise also expressed their views.
