Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantrya) Balendra Shah was sworn in as the new Prime Minister from today.
The then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had resigned from his post following the Genji agitation that took place on September 7 and 24, demanding an end to corruption, good governance and regular operation of social media.
President Ram Chandra Poudel had announced the date for the election after the dissolution of the House of Representatives on the recommendation of Prime Minister Karki on September 27.
The party had won 182 seats in the election. The incumbent government formed in accordance with Article 76 (1) of the constitution should work in the areas of ending corruption, maintaining good governance and effective service delivery.
