Five-member budget writing committee formed under Khatri’s convenorship

. The government has formed a five-member budget writing committee to prepare the budget and programmes for the coming fiscal year 2083/084. Tanka Prasad Pandey, spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, said that the committee has been formed with the responsibility of preparing a draft of the principles, priorities and statement of the budget.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the committee will collect and present necessary suggestions for the annual policy and program of the coming fiscal year.TAG_OPEN_div_10 He also said that the committee has been given the responsibility to facilitate the prioritization process of the projects and programs to be implemented.

Committee will prepare a draft of principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill to be presented in both Houses of the Federal Parliament and will also prepare and submit a draft of the budget statement to be presented by the Finance Minister. The committee is headed by Uttar Kumar Khatri, chief of the Revenue Management Division.

Similarly, Suman Dahal, Chief of Budget and Programme Division, Dhaniram Sharma, Chief of International Economic Relations Division, Mahesh Bhattarai, Chief of Financial Policy Analysis Division and Sewantak Pokharel, Chief of Financial Federalism Coordination Division, are the members of the committee.TAG_OPEN_div_6
