Kathmandu. The Land Problem Resolution Committee has directed the District Committee to take necessary action against four people who have self-declared themselves as landless in the name of themselves and their families.

Sending a letter to the concerned District Land Problems Resolution Committee, the committee directed to take action against the people who have mentioned in self-declaration that they have the land in their names and their family members.

According to the committee, although the self-declaration has mentioned that he and his family do not have any land in their name, it has recommended the concerned district committee for necessary action against the four found to have the land in the government records.

As per the details obtained from the land records, they have land in Ilam, Taplejung, Jhapa and Kavre districts in the names of the couple and their families, reads the committee’s letter.

The committee said that it has initiated the process of taking action against the people who were found to have land while verifying the self-declaration of the people who applied as landless squatters and landless Dalits with the government records. The committee has urged the concerned district committees to take necessary action as per the Land Related Act, 2021 if they are found trying to avail the benefits of the landless by submitting false details.
