Two-way traffic resumes on Krishnabhir road after 18 days

Chitwan. After 18 days, the transport service on the Prithvi Highway has resumed from this morning. On August 30, the transport service was affected after the flood swept away the road at Krishna Bhir.

The two-way road has been opened on the Krishna Bhir road of the Prithvi Highway, which was blocked due to the collapse. The road was completely submerged after the Trishuli River swept away the lower part of the road.

After the road was completely disrupted, a new track has been opened by cutting the nearby mound since September 1. According to Dheeraj Dhakal, engineer of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project (West Section), all the works were completed by Wednesday evening and the road has been brought into operation from today.TAG_OPEN_div_24

Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Ganesh TAG_OPEN_div_18 Aryal, said that the landslide prevention works carried out by partially blocking the road at Tuin rivulet have come to a halt with the operation of vehicular movement at Krishnabhir rivulet.

Due to the blockage of the road at Krishnabhir for a long time, large vehicles were not able to travel to the federal capital. Due to this, there is a shortage of LP gas in the capital.

After the floods in Trishuli on August 26, the road collapsed at various places along the Krishna Bhir and Prithvi Highway. Although it was easy in other places, there was a problem after the Krishna Bhir completely collapsed. More than 14,000 vehicles pass through this road every day.
