Kathmandu. The government has expedited the electrification work in the flood-affected areas of Bhotekoshi. The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation had expedited the re-electrification work a day after the floods damaged infrastructure and disrupted power in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.
According to Mohan Kumar Shakya, spokesperson of the ministry, power supply has been restored in all areas of Dhading and Nuwakot. In Nuwakot, electricity reached all areas on September 24. In Dhading, electricity was restored in all parts of the district.
Electricity has been restored to 90 percent of the flood-affected areas of Rasuwa. Spokesperson Shakya said that electricity service has been restored in all areas of the district except Ward No. 1 of Uttargaya Rural Municipality and Ward No. 1, 2 and 3 of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality.
According to him, electricity service has been gradually resumed in areas lacking national electricity distribution through institutional and domestic solar system through Alternative Energy Promotion Centre.
