KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has said that homework is being done to ease power supply during the winter season.

Talking to media persons at the RSP party office in Kathmandu, Minister Shrestha said that 10 percent of the electricity supply has gone out of the national transmission line due to the floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa district. Minister Shrestha said that the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is balancing the national transmission line amid the pressure and homework is being done to ease the supply in winter.

“We have discussed what is the transmission line that will be connected now, there is a potential risk in other places as well, and how to address it. However, we are doing workouts to balance the power supply as we do now in the winter months. Hopefully, now the supply will be balanced, including connecting to the transmission line,” he said.

Expressing concern that there might be some inconvenience due to going out of the transmission line, Minister Shrestha said that he is working out in it. “The demand is high in the winter months. Especially in two months. His workouts are being done,” he said.

Minister Shrestha informed that electricity connection was connected within 24 hours of flood in Nuwakot and electrification in Rasuwa has also been done recently.
