All three units of Kulekhani to generate full electricity to prevent water level rise

Bagmati. The Kulekhani Hydropower Project in Makwanpur has fully generated electricity in all three units to prevent the water level in the reservoir from rising.

Prahlad Raut, chief of the Kulekhani First Hydropower Station, said that the water is being utilized to the maximum by generating electricity in full capacity keeping in view the increasing water level and the possible risk of rainfall.TAG_OPEN_div_11

Stating that the water level of the Kulekhani reservoir is 1,522.75 meters, he said that the water level of the Kulekhani reservoir has not increased much as all the three units are fully generating electricity. According to Raut, the first, second and third units of the 106 MW Kulekhani Project are generating 60, 32 and 14 MW of electricity respectively.TAG_OPEN_div_9

As the water level reaches 1,527 meters, sirens have been sounded as a warning to the general public to take necessary precautions to avoid possible danger, he said.TAG_OPEN_div_7
