KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RJP) President Rabi Lamichhane has said that the Nepali Congress (NC) has a long political history.

Stating that he would always respect the contribution of the Nepali Congress to the democratic movement of Nepal, he stressed the need to move ahead learning from the history of the party.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress, Lamichhane said that he seems to be the lone opposition even though he is from the ruling party in the current stage. He said that he was used to being alone often and presented it in a satirical manner by linking it to the political context.

“Today, I am the only opposition of this forum. The ruling party but the only opposition of this forum. I am also in the habit of being lonely,” Lamichhane said.
