Corruption case filed against five including former Chief Administrative Officer Mandal

{{TAG_OPEN_div_12}Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against five persons, including Gauri Shankar Mandal, the then chief administrative officer of Dhanoji Rural Municipality in Dhanusha.

The CIAA has filed a corruption case against Dhanauji Rural Municipality for irregularities in the fiscal year 2077÷78 for inviting tender for the construction of deep boring installation, cold storage wall and school building construction project without publishing the notice in the national dailie.TAG_OPEN_div_10

The anti-graft body has filed corruption case against the then Chief Administrative Officer Mandal, the then co-accountant of Dhanauji Rural Municipality, Binod Kumar Mandal, the editor-in-chief of Janakpur Today Media Group and Janakpur Today National Daily, Brij Kumar Yadav, chairman of Amrit Media Pvt Ltd and chief executive officer of Janakpur Today Media Group Pvt Ltd, Rajendra Yadav, chief executive officer of Janakpur Today Media Group Pvt Ltd and Sanjaya Kumar Yadav, market representative of Amrit Media Pvt Ltd with a claim of Rs 3.80 lakh each.TAG_OPEN_div_8

CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Neupane said that the Commission has demanded to recover the amount of the amount as per the sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 and to pay a fine of Rs 380,000.TAG_OPEN_div_6
