Illegal goods worth more than Rs four crore seized

Bhadrapur. The Armed Police Force Nepal No. 2 Battalion Headquarters, Jhapa has seized goods worth Rs 41,562,373 from customs evasion, illegal smuggling and imports.

According to the battalion, illegal goods worth Rs 1,TAG_OPEN_div_26 55,05,05,626 were seized in July, Rs 1,48,01,818 in August and Rs 1,12,54,929 in September so far. In the same period of the fiscal year 2082/83, illegal goods worth Rs 2,20,89,578 were seized.

According to the battalion, four people involved in customs evasion, illegal smuggling and import have been taken under control and handed over to the concerned Customs Office for necessary action along with 35 vehicles.TAG_OPEN_div_24

Superintendent of Police Sachin Karmacharya, chief of the Armed Police Force Battalion in Jhapa, said that surveillance and security mobilization have been made effective to control customs evasion, illegal smuggling and import taking place along the border. He said that coordination and cooperation with the concerned bodies including the Customs, Nepal Police have been given priority to control illegal activities.TAG_OPEN_div_22

“We are coordinating and coordinating with the concerned bodies to control the smuggling and smuggling,” he said. He said that necessary instructions have been given to the subordinate units to prevent any kind of illegal activities in the border area.
