Kathmandu. Everest Paper Mills Pvt. Ltd. The workers of Everest Paper Mills Pvt. Ltd. have received a payment of Rs 6,36,62,803 for the services and facilities they were entitled to after a long legal and administrative struggle.

As many as 174 workers had filed a legal process demanding their perks and remuneration following a dispute between the industry administration and the workers.

All the workers have received the arrears through various cheques as per the order of the Labour Court and the agreement reached at the District Administration Office, Dhanusha.

After repeated legal struggles, the Labour Court ordered the release of the bank account on March 30, 2002 for payment of Rs 5,86,60,395.22. However, even though the bank account was released, the workers filed a re-application alleging contempt of court as the amount was not paid from the establishment.

After administrative and legal action, a total of Rs 5,86,60,395.22 as per the order of the Labour Court on October 15 and Rs 6,36,62,803.38 including salaries for the months of August and September 2018 were paid to 174 workers.

With the transfer of this amount through various cheques, the long-pending agreement and the decision of the court have been fully implemented.
