Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has given a contract to a Chinese company to print notes worth Rs 4.30 trillion.

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has awarded a contract to a Chinese company to print banknotes worth Rs 4.30 trillion. The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to hand over the printing of banknotes worth USD 16.985 million to the China Bank Note Printing and Minting Corporation Beijing.

According to this, the current exchange rate of Rs 5.56 will cost Rs 5.56 to print Rs 1,000 note. Under this, 430 million pieces of banknotes of Rs 1,000 denomination will be printed. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) had called for tender for the project on August 26.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank’s Currency Management Department, the selection was made from among the effective bidders who participated in the bidding on the stipulated time.
