Kathmandu. Air New Zealand has cancelled 12 flights on 37 Airbus planes after it required necessary software updates.
Air New Zealand’s chief safety officer, Nathan McGraw, said the software update problem was affecting 37 Airbus aircraft operating both domestically and internationally. He said the update is expected to take about two to three days to complete.
The New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority said it was “fully aware” of the condition of the Airbus A320.
Air New Zealand is working with other relevant authorities to implement emergency safety guidance issued by the European Union’s aviation safety agency. According to this directive, it has been mandatory for all A-320 aircraft to update the necessary software.
