Borrowers in flood-affected districts can restructure loans by paying 10 percent interest

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has provided facility for restructuring and rescheduling of loans to the entrepreneurs and businessmen affected by floods and landslides.

Unveiling the review of the monetary policy for the current fiscal year, the NRB has said that it will make arrangements for restructuring and rescheduling loans for the enterprises and businesses of Ilam and other districts affected by the natural disaster. For this, the borrowers will have to pay a minimum interest of 10 percent of the loan issued.

“Banks and financial institutions will be able to restructure÷reschedule, charging a minimum of 10 percent interest on loans issued to enterprises and businesses in Ilam and other districts affected by the recent ÷floodlandslide,” the NRB said in a review of the monetary policy.
