Nepal stresses the need for continuous support from the international community for the development of LDCs

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal has stressed the need for continuous support from the international community for the development of LDCs.

This was emphasized by Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Chairman of the Global Coordination Bureau of Least Developed Countries, at the high-level meeting on Sustainable Development and Partnership among Least Developed Countries (LDCs) held in Doha on Tuesday.

According to the Embassy of Nepal in Doha, Secretary Rai stressed on the need of expanding access to international market, ending structural barriers and ensuring the availability of maximum resources from the international community for the economic progress of the least developed countries.

Stating that agriculture, hydropower, tourism, construction, information and communication technology and human resources are areas with immense potentials for Nepal’s economic transformation, Secretary Rai said the government was willing to collaborate with the international community, Nepal’s development partners as well as the United Nations and its specialized agencies to invest in them.
