Kathmandu. Citizens Bank Limited has bagged ‘Bank of the Year 2025’ award.

The bank has been awarded this award for two consecutive years.  The bank had received the same award in 2024 as well. The Banker, a part of the Financial Times Group, annually selects the best banks from around the world based on their financial performance, innovation and sustainable development.

The award, which has been presented since 1926, evaluates the bank’s profitability, financial sustainability, digital technology adoption, service improvements, and green finance initiatives. According to the report, Citizens Bank has been awarded the Best in this year due to financial expansion, digital banking, green banking efforts and improvement in customer service.

According to the bank, the award has further energized the organization to promote digital transformation and sustainable banking. The bank’s ‘Citizen’s Environment Code’ campaign for environment-friendly banking is also considered important in the evaluation.

According to the bank’s unrevised financial statements published in the first quarter of the current FY, the bank has earned a net profit of Rs 22.04 crores. In the same period last year, the profit was Rs 19.82 crore, which indicates that the bank’s operating capacity is strengthened.

Receiving the award at the award ceremony held in London, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Bank Mr. Prabal Jung Pandey expressed his commitment to provide more customer-centric service and innovation. CEO of the Bank, Ganesh Raj Pokharel, said that the award is a result of the dedication and continuous efforts of the bank team and will focus on making the service simpler, more effective and reliable in the days ahead.

According to the bank, the bank’s indexes including profit, interest income, distributable profit and dividend capacity have improved significantly since the formation of a new board of directors under the chairmanship of Prabal Jung Pandey in September last year.
