Dhading. The Nagadanga-Malekhu road section has been partially closed for a week and the road expansion work has been expedited. The Nagdhunga-Muglin road project has intensified the road blacktopping and upgrading works by shutting down vehicular movement for five hours daily from today till December 14.

As per the notice issued by the road project, the road from Nagdhunga to Piplamod and Pokhrebhir area will be closed from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. Engineer at the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project, Keshav Ojha, said that they have urged the authorities to use alternative roads during this time and to manage the travel time before or after the deadline.

According to him, the road section is being partially closed as the risk of accidents will increase at the same time. According to the project, the Galchi-Gajuri section of Dhading is also narrow and risky, so the road needs to be widened in Pokhrebhir area.

The Nagdhunga-Naubise section of the Tribhuvan Highway is in the process of being blacktopped and upgraded. The blacktopping of Nagdhunga-Piplamod section of Kathmandu district has been accorded high priority.

Vehicles coming from Kathmandu along the Nagdhunga-Piplamod road section have been stopped at Nagdhunga check post while vehicles coming to Kathmandu from Galchhi have been stopped at Khanikhola and Junge rivulet. Vehicles coming from Naubise along the Galchhi-Gajuri road section from Galchhi, Baireni, Mastar and Muglint to Naubise have been stopped at Malekhu area.

Small and medium vehicles will be able to use Sitapaila-Bhimdhunga-Ramkot-Dharke road in case of emergency. An alternative route can also be used to pass through Samakhusi-Tokha-Chhahare and cross the Trishuli bridge from Jarekhet to Ghatbesi.

Ambulances, security vehicles, fire trucks, hearse trucks and other essential vehicles are not able to move along the road as the rocks cut to widen the road are piled up with stones and mud.
