Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Hari Dharel has been appointed as Denmark’s consul general for Nepal. Dharel, who has served as Danish consul to Nepal since 2017, was recently promoted to the post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the suggestion of the Danish government.
According to Nepal’s Honorary Consul Regulations 2039 (4), Dharel has been appointed as Consul General of the Kingdom of Denmark. Dharel, who has been working professionally in Nepal’s mountaineering tourism sector for the past 35 years, has been active in the diplomatic sector for the past eight years and has been working for the expansion of Nepal-Denmark relations to the people’s level.
Consul General Dharel said that the two countries have a long and close relations and he would be active to further expand it at the people’s level in the days to come. He said that efforts will be made to bring back the Danish Embassy which was shifted from Kathmandu to New Delhi due to various reasons.
