Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has said that the mobile business is not only working to make the country economically dynamic but also as a social bridge.
Inaugurating the second convention and third general meeting of Nepal Mobile Entrepreneurs’ Association in Kathmandu on Saturday, Minister Kharel said that the government was ready to address the problems of mobile entrepreneurs who have been involved in mobile business in the country and created employment for millions of youths in the country.
“You entrepreneurs are not only doing mobile business, you are also working to connect society with family, you are teaching parents to talk to children,” said Minister Kharel.
He said that the mobile business is creating employment for millions of youths in the country and expressed the belief that the initiative will be taken to address the problems of the entrepreneurs.
Minister Kharel said that the web of corruption has been wrapped in the MDMS system and expressed the belief that the web of corruption would be torn apart. Stating that the country has demanded change, he said that the situation of more than two thousand Genji youths going abroad every day should be stopped by all. “This country was not built because it is not good, but our people were sought, the country was not built because of factional interests and looking after one’s own people, now it is too much, let’s think while voting, there should not be a situation of regretting five years by voting for a bad candidate.” ”
Minister Kharel, who is also the government spokesperson, said the government was working to promote good governance, control corruption and create environment conducive for holding the elections on the slated date.
Speaking at the program, Bharat Bhattarai, president of the Federation of Mobile Entrepreneurs of Nepal, said that the MDMS system has created confusion and demanded either to implement it completely or to scrap it. He also stressed on the need to test the quality of mobiles and accessories coming in the market.
On the occasion, Kathmandu District Chairman Suresh Baniya said that the government will legalize the business of second-hand mobiles, which will increase the scope of Nepal’s revenue and keep Nepal’s money in Nepal. Stating that many mobile accessories are being manufactured in Nepal but foreign products are getting priority, he said that the government should give priority to Nepali products.
