Janakpur. Kathmandu: Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal and Chief Minister of Madhes Province Krishna Prasad Yadav held a meeting at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday.
During the meeting held at Madhes Bhawan in Janakpurdham, Chief Minister Yadav urged Finance Minister Khanal to increase the grant provided by the federal government to the Madhes Province.
He stressed the need of increasing the grant amount on the basis of the human index being weak in Madhes Province.
On the occasion, the government’s attention was drawn towards the failure of the federal government to provide financial grant to the MBBS programme run by the Madhes Academy of Health Sciences. The MBBS programme is being run at an annual cost of Rs 20 crore.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Khanal said that the federal government was positive towards the concerns expressed by the state government for the economic development and prosperity of the province.
