Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Ward No. 2 has commenced its services from the newly constructed administrative building at Lazimpat-based Nursery Road.
Prior to this, the ward office was located on the road section from Lazimpat Road to Nilsaraswati Road. The cost of the construction of the newly constructed building is Rs 491,524 excluding tax.
Inaugurating the building, ward chair Rajendra Kumar Shrestha said transforming the building into a place to serve the citizens from the possession of public property group was one of the important tasks of his tenure. Similarly, former mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya said that there would be efficient service delivery along with the construction of infrastructures.
According to Prem Bahadur Shrestha, an engineer at the Department of Public Works, the building covers 2,443 square feet of land in the building. The area of the building is 12,527 square feet. The cost estimate of the construction of the building was Rs 5,51,06,085 including overhead, contingency and provisional.
The work order was given to the construction side on April 29, 2021. The construction period was mid-April of that year.
A health promotion centre has been set up in the old building after the administrative work of the ward started from the new building.
