Nawalparasi. The Daunne area under the Narayangadh-Butwal road section, which has been obstructed since Monday, has not been easy. Vehicular movement has not been possible due to the slippery road due to cold wave.
Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Yubaraj Khadka, said that the road around Khursani River in Daunne has been obstructed since Monday morning due to the problem of the vehicles slipping and climbing up the road.
“The road has been obstructed as the road has become slippery and muddy due to the cold wave in the western section of Daunne”, he said. ”
Senior Sub-Inspector of Police Binod Joshi of District Traffic Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) said thick fog and slippery road have created problems for vehicular operation in Daunne. “Vehicular traffic is still prevailing from Dumkibas bazaar”, he said, adding, “It has been very difficult to operate vehicular movement as the one-way highway has been obstructed for a long time due to the road construction”. ”
Information Officer of the Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project, Engineer Bikash Khanal, said that there is more traffic congestion in the western section of the road project as the cold wave has prevailed in the under-construction area. “At present, gravel is being laid in the Khursani rivulet area and cargo vehicles have been stopped at Bardaghat and Bhutaha areas until the situation improves”, he said.
Hundreds of passengers have been stranded due to the traffic jam that has been going on for the past three days. Issuing a notice today, the Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project (West Section) has requested the vehicles except the most essential ones to use the alternative road. According to the project, serious problems have surfaced in the construction and repair of the road on one side while the road has turned muddy due to cold wave on the other.
