Loans from banks and financial institutions to agriculture decreased, loans to livestock and slaughterhouses decreased

Kathmandu. Loans from banks and financial institutions to agriculture sector have decreased by 0.04 percent to Rs 336.73 billion.

Loans from banks and financial institutions have decreased in mid-July 2082 as compared to Ashad 2081 BS.

According to the annual report of the Economic Activity Study of the last fiscal year 2081/82 released by Nepal Rastra Bank, agricultural credit has decreased.

In the last fiscal year, the highest disbursement of Rs. 61.19 billion was disbursed under the title of Livestock Slaughterhouse and the lowest was Rs. 206.5 million in tobacco.

Koshi Province accounts for 16.7 per cent of the loan disbursed to the agriculture sector, followed by Madhes (18.7 per cent), Bagmati (36.2 per cent), Gandaki (7.1 per cent), Lumbini (15 per cent), Karnali (1.5 per cent) and Sudurpaschim Province (4.7 per cent).
