Syangja. Construction of a cemented bridge over Armadikhola of Waling municipality-1 in Syangja district has begun.
The construction of a bridge over the Armadi rivulet at Bauwa of Waling-1 has begun.
Municipality Engineer Dhruba Regmi said that the road section could be used as an alternative route to Siddhartha Highway with the construction of a bridge over Armadi River at Bauwa of Aandhikhola corridor constructed by the municipality within the boundary of the municipality. According to him, the construction of the bridge at the confluence of Aandhikhola and Armadi rivulet will make the daily movement from Waling Bazaar to Waling Cleaning Center easier.
“With the completion of the bridge, it will be easier to transport the degradable, non-degradable, lead-based and faecal waste collected daily from the market area of the municipality to the Sanitation Centre”, he said, adding that it could also be used as an alternative road to the Siddhartha Highway. We hope this will make the commute easier for the general public and save time and cost. ”
According to engineer Regmi, a contract agreement has been signed with DSMY JV at the cost of Rs 33.7 million to complete the bridge by mid-June, 2083 BS. According to him, the bridge will be 25 meters long and 8.40 meters wide including footpath. He informed that the foundation construction of the bridge has now begun.
In winter, even though the vehicles had to cross the river through the river, it was difficult to carry garbage during the rainy season and they were compelled to transport the garbage from other places. Farmers have been facing problems in transporting tractors and other vehicles during the rainy season.
There are Armadi and Mirdikhola for transportation from Waling Bazaar to the Sanitation Centre. Locals say that vehicles are compelled to operate from Mirdi River even though a concrete bridge has been constructed over the Armadi River this year.
Stating that the bridge construction has been started to enable vehicular movement along the Aandhikhola corridor even during the rainy season, Engineer Regmi said preparations were underway to award a contract for the construction of a cemented bridge over Mirdikhola in the coming fiscal year.
After the construction of the bridge over the Aandhikhola corridor, the agricultural and river-based goods grown on the agricultural land spread along the banks of Aandhikhola, Armadikhola and Mirdi Khola will be transported through the corridor. Vehicular congestion is expected to ease along the Siddhartha Highway and Waling Bazaar with the completion of the corridor.
