Kathmandu. NIC ASIA Bank has said that unruly activities have created insecurity in the bank. According to the bank, the incident at the Itahari branch has created an unsafe environment in the banking sector.

“Serious attention has been drawn to the incidents of people entering the bank with ulterior motives, misbehaving with their staff, displaying indecent behavior and misbehaving at the branch office,” reads a statement issued by the bank.

The bank is of the view that such illegal and unruly activities in an institution providing sensitive and essential services like the bank would not be acceptable under any circumstances. According to the bank, such activities have created an unsafe environment not only in the employees of the bank but also in the entire banking sector.

The press release stated that serious activities prohibited by the law such as creating ruckus, creating ruckus inside the bank offices, arson, and spraying highly inflammable substances like petrol with the intention of causing loss to life have made a negative impact on the banking sector which has significantly contributed to the country’s economic development. This has also had a serious impact on the safe working environment and employees are feeling insecure, the bank said.

The bank has made it clear that such indecent and illegal behavior towards its employees in any pretext would not be tolerated and demanded the concerned body to carry out necessary investigation and take action against those involved in the incident as per the prevailing laws. The bank has also urged the concerned authorities to ensure peace and security of the bank and its employees.
