Still. The road leading to Keshavtar of Byas municipality-14 which lies 14 kilometers away from district headquarters Damauli has been graded and blacktopped.
Currently, 9 kilometers of the road has been paved. Out of the total 14 kilometers road, nine kilometers of the road was blacktopped earlier and now two kilometers of the road has been sloped from the budget of the state government.
The Gandaki Province government has invested Rs 50 million to construct drains, expand roads and blacktop the drains.
According to ward chair Kajiman Shrestha, the construction work was expedited from the previous year’s budget of the Gandaki state government but now 5-km road is yet to be blacktopped.
“The vehicular movement along the section has been halted for the past one week. People come to Damauli via Keshavtar-Kulud highway. ”
The Ring Road is being developed linking Damauli-Keshavtar, Dharampani, Bandipur with Dumre Bazaar along the Prithvi Highway. According to Bhesh Raj Tiwari, planning section officer of Byas, the World Bank loan of Rs 60 million under the Urban Infrastructure Development and Government Programme has been approved by Byas municipality.
According to Mayor Baikuntha Neupane, the Gandaki Province government has allocated Rs 10 million for the upgradation of the Keshavtar motorway.
