Kathmandu. Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya, has gone out to the field himself in an effort to resolve the technical problem after complaints of consumers have started increasing in Patan, Syuchatar and Balju among other areas of late.
After receiving such complaints, he held discussions with the top level employees of the grid at the load dispatch center Sutachar till late Thursday night. During the discussion, he directed to find a solution to the technical problem immediately.
Similarly, he also reached Lagankhel Distribution Center and Jawalakhel Center for an emergency inspection at around 10:00 am on Friday and took stock of the situation there.
“I have held discussions with the load dispatch centres and the top level employees of the grid till late Thursday night to find out the root cause of the problem and take stock of the situation after receiving complaints from customers that power supply has started going out in Patan, Syuchatar and Balaju among other areas in recent period,” Shakle said, adding, “We will visit the centres of Lagankhel and Patan on Friday evening to take stock of the situation there.” I have returned after monitoring all the complaints received from the customers, whether the complaint has been resolved or not. A surprise inspection showed that the situation was satisfactory. ’
Stating that the NEA’s attention was not only to provide electricity but also to provide quality electricity, he urged all not to panic looking at minor technical problems that may come up in the current situation.
NEA has also said that it will move ahead by resolving minor technical problems as the demand for electricity will also increase with the increase in the use of heaters, ACs and other electrical appliances with the increase in winter. The Law Authority has also urged all not to suspect that load shedding is imminent.
