Nabil Bank Conducts Nabil SSE Program ‘Celebrating Fellowship: Journey of Impact, 2082’

Kathmandu. Nabil Bank Limited farewell to the participants of the Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE) Fellowship Programme and welcome the new entrants. The bank bid farewell to the participants of the fourth and fifth groups and welcomed the participants of the sixth cohort in the program ‘Celebrating Fellowship: Journey of Impact, 2082’.

The 40 participants of the fourth and fifth groups of the fellowship program were felicitated by the Chairman of the program, Mr. Upendra Prasad Poudel, Chairman of Nabil Bank and the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Khadak KC distributed the certificates. The 6th group of 20 participants were formally welcomed. On the occasion, an exhibition of goods and services produced by the social entrepreneurs participated in the fellowship was also held.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Poudel said that the program has played an important role in creating an environment for the youths to realize that they can do something in Nepal through entrepreneurship. Stating that the trainees of Nabil SSE have already created 17,000 jobs in the country, he said that all would play important role in making the programme more effective.

Rector of Tribhuvan University Prof. Dr. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khadga KC said, “This program initiated by Nabil Bank is exemplary for the society and Tribhuvan University is happy to work in this program.” He also said that they are ready to take this cooperation in a stronger way in the days ahead.

Mr. Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Director of Nabil Bank congratulated all the participants of the program and wished them all success. He said that although Nabil Bank and Tribhuvan University were the only ones who started this program, now various stakeholders are connected.

“In five years of continuous journey, we have established around 200 enterprises and created employment for more than 17,000 people. Chaudhary said that this journey is a long journey and expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders who supported to make the program a success.

Director of Tribhuvan University’s School of Management, Dr. Mr. Govinda Tamang said, “We are very happy to collaborate with Nabil SSE from its inception till now. The agreement with Nabil Bank is valid till 2028. He said that the learning under this program is not limited to the classroom but is practical and experiential. The fellowship program under Nabil SSE is a powerful platform for aspiring social entrepreneurs.

In his welcome remarks, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank Manoj Gyewali said that Nabil Bank has been contributing to the development of the country through social entrepreneurship.

Nabil Bank has been launching Nabil SSE on November 26, 2021 with an aim to promote social entrepreneurship across the country. The program has been conducted with the objective of developing innovative ideas in entrepreneurship and providing training, network, and support to inclusive enterprises based on entrepreneurship.

Nabil Bank has been conducting the fellowship program in collaboration with Tribhuvan University School of Management. The participants of the six-month fellowship will undergo residential training for three days each month for six months and will work the remaining days in their own workplace. The program has been conducted to solve the practical difficulties of doing business by arranging mentors to the participants throughout the training period. The program also provides hands-on training to the participating entrepreneurs and helps them expand their network. So far, 96 social entrepreneurs have participated in the fellowship programme. So far, they have established 62 enterprises and created more than 14,500 jobs.

Similarly, Nabil Bank has been providing Nabil SSE Certificate Course through 10 educational institutions across the country. A total of 1,069 people from all seven provinces have benefited from the scheme. So far, they have created more than 2,500 jobs by establishing 131 different enterprises.
