Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) issued a show cause order questioning the decision of the Office of the Attorney General to withdraw or amend the charge filed against Rastriya Swatantra Party President and former home minister Ravi Lamichhane on the charges relating to ‘money laundering’ and ‘organised crime’.

A single bench of Justice Abdul Aziz Muhammad asked the Attorney General’s Office to clarify the legal basis for taking the decision. The court has also directed the Attorney General’s Office to be present for the discussion on the matter.

Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, law students Aayush Badal and Yubaraj Poudel had filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding annulment of the charge-sheet.
