Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has directed the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) to forward all possible projects under the public-private partnership model.
Speaking at the 12th meeting of the Monitoring and Facilitation Committee under the Public and Private Partnership and Investment Act-2075 BS at the Ministry of Finance, Minister Khanal directed the officials concerned to forward as many projects as could be done.
On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of IBN Sushil Gyewali briefed the meeting about the project proposals and policy preparation received at IBN. According to Gyawali, the Board has received proposals for a second international airport, chemical fertilizer factory, reservoir hydropower project, agro-voltaic project, green hydrogen and podway.
Hemraj Tamang, joint secretary at IBN, said that 55 projects worth Rs 1.716 billion have been approved by the IBN so far. The meeting also decided to recommend to the bodies concerned for necessary facilitation to resolve the problems surfaced on the issues of forest, land, price adjustment, transmission line, compensation and coordination with local levels.
