The land acquisition process for the project has already started. The proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation for approval to forward the process of acquiring private land required for the construction of different structures of the project.

Under the project, a 32-metre high dam will be constructed on Seti River near Sarangghat of Bandipur Rural Municipality-6 and Devghat Rural Municipality-3. The project will generate electricity through a 6.8-km tunnel passing through Devghat 3 and 4 to the semi-underground powerhouse to be built on the right bank of Kaligandaki River at Devghat, some 500 meters downstream from the confluence of the Seti River.
