Kathmandu. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed the government to make arrangements for voting through online mode for the delegates who cannot be physically present.
The Ministry has given its opinion to conduct the 12th general convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) as per its statute. According to Clause 14 and Clause 21 (10) of the NRNA Statute 2003 (amendment 2022), the election can be held either physically or online. According to the ministry, it is mandatory to make online voting mandatory for the representatives who cannot be physically present.
The letter has expressed the opinion that it would be appropriate to move ahead with the election process by ensuring the participation of maximum number of representatives in physical form and by ensuring the participation of the representatives through online (virtual medium) as per the statute.
Stating that it was the responsibility of NRNA to ensure the participation of the Non-Resident Nepalis around the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged the NRNA to make necessary technical and managerial preparations for the same.
