Youth arrested with silver worth Rs 12 lakh at Kathmandu checkpoint

Kathmandu. Police seized a huge quantity of silver from a checkpoint at Nagdhunga of Chandragiri Municipality-2 in Kathmandu district.

A joint team of Police Sector, Nagdhunga and Narcotics Control Bureau branch office Nagdhunga was heading to Kathmandu from Birgunj. Ashu Shraw, 17, of Feta Rural Municipality-6 in Parsa district was arrested while checking a passenger bus (01-006 Kha 5529).

During the investigation, the police found 2 kg 900 grams of silver seeds weighing around Rs 12,14,520 inside a black bag with a white plastic berry. The arrested silver beans were handed over to the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office, Gauchar, Kathmandu.
