Jhapa. Petroleum products worth Rs 11.52 billion have been imported from Kakarvitta border point in the current fiscal year 2082/83 till mid-February.
Petrol, diesel, LP gas, ATF and kerosene were imported from the eastern border point.
Information Officer and Customs Officer at the Mechi Customs Office, Ishwor Kumar Humagain, said that the import of petroleum products has increased by Rs 602 million compared to the same period of the last fiscal year 2081/82. Information Officer Humagain shared that revenue from petroleum products has increased by 6.70 percent with the rise in import.
According to the statistics of the office, revenue of Rs 5.63 billion has been collected from the import of petroleum products in the first seven months of the current fiscal year. A total of 62,932 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 5.53 billion was imported during the period. Similarly, 40,352 kiloliters of diesel worth Rs 3.81 billion was imported.
Similarly, 14,999 metric tonnes LP gas worth Rs 1.46 billion, 4,736 kilolitres ATF worth Rs 435.8 million and 1,212 kilolitres kerosene worth Rs 113.3 million were imported in the first seven months of the period.
