Dang. The Damodar road section at Jitpur of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-14 has remained in limbo for the past three years due to lack of blacktopping.

Ghorahi joins Tulsipur-8, Bhaisapatra and Ghorahi-5 joins Dangigaun in constituency no. 1. Similarly, Ghorahi-8 is in constituency-2 and Ghorahi-5 is in constituency-1. Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-14 is in Constituency No. 3. The Damodar road section, which connects the three constituencies and is the pride project of Dang, has been in limbo for the past five years due to lack of blacktopping.

It has been more than 5 years since gravel was laid along the Damodar section linking Ghorahi to Hapur of Babai Rural Municipality, but it has not been upgraded with blacktopping yet.

According to the locals, the road is being blacktopped up to Nainwar of Ghorahi. Narayan Khadka, a local, said that the blacktopping has not been completed in 18 kilometers including Jitpur of Tulsipur-14. “There is no blacktopping in the middle of the same ward, but the work has been done from the Urahari side of Tulsipu-11. This has caused inconvenience to the people here,” he said.

According to Khadka, the locals of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-14 have been neglected due to the lack of up-gradation of the road in Jitpur area. Damodar road is taken as an alternative route to connect western Dang. He said that with the construction of this road, local production can be easily taken to the market.
