Baglung. A total of 22 candidates have opened bank accounts for the election expenses.
According to the Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee, 22 out of 23 candidates contesting for the House of Representatives election in Baglung constituency-1 and constituency-2 have so far opened bank accounts.
Fund controller Kishor Kumar Shrestha of the Office of Fund and Account Controller, Baglung, said that the expenses and income of the candidates should be collected from the same account. According to him, not a single candidate from constituency number 1 has opened his account.
The Election Commission has set a criteria for a candidate in Baglung to get a maximum of Rs 29 lakh. According to him, the expenditure of the candidates will be monitored to prevent financial irregularities in the election and to make the expenditure economical.
Shrestha said, “The Election Commission has made arrangements for the candidates to open an account that is used only for election purposes to prevent them from spending more this time. ”
