Kathmandu. Out of 15 districts in the mountainous region, ballot papers are yet to be transported to three districts.

Ballot papers from Sankhuwasabha, Dolpa and Gorkha districts are yet to be transported due to bad weather. Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, said that it has not been possible since Thursday evening to transport the ballot papers to the polling centres in mountainous areas of three districts by helicopter due to bad weather.

Preparations are underway to take the ballot papers of all three districts to the office of the returning officer today itself, as long as the weather permits. Counting of votes in all three districts will begin once the ballot papers are transported.

Likewise, ballot papers from polling centres in mountainous areas of Rasuwa, Dolakha, Rukum (eastern part), Bajura, Bajhang, Humla, Taplejung, Manang, Mustang, Rukum (western part), Solukhumbu and Mugu have already been taken to the District Election Officer’s office.

Likewise, the EC has also directed the counting of votes in Syangja, Dolakha and Dhanusha district constituencies no 1 as per the law. The Election Commission (EC) has directed the Office of the Chief Returning Officer (CEO) to conduct the counting of votes in Dhanusha District Constituency No. 1.
