Nuwakot. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Dr Achutam Lamichhane has been elected as the member of the House of Representatives from Nuwakot constituency-2. Rastriya Janata Party’s Lamichhane secured 32,054 votes, according to Chief Election Officer Komal Prasad Acharya.
According to him, Nepali Congress candidate Jagadish Narsingh KC got 15,503 votes in the constituency. Similarly, CPN-UML’s Keshav Raj Pandey got 8,285 votes, Nepali Communist Party’s Hiranath Khatiwada got 6,720 votes and Ujyalo Nepal Party’s Gyanendra Prakash Ghale got 2,750 votes.
Of the 12 candidates contesting in Nuwakot-2, all the rest got less than 1,000 votes. Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s Jhanak Pyakure got 775 votes, Mongol National Organization’s Renchen Tamang got 426 votes, Labour Culture Party’s Binod Kumar Tamang got 396 votes, Nawaraj Dhungana of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) got 90 votes, Kiran Timsena of Nepal Communist Party (United) got 52 votes, Subash Bhatta of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party got 28 votes and Man Singh Gadaili of the Aam Janata Party got 11 votes.
Of the total 123,939 voters in Nuwakot-2, 70,452 votes were cast.
