Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The 12th Non-Resident Nepali Global Conference and International General Convention held in Kathmandu from March 14, 2082 BS was held in Kathmandu with the slogan ‘Our Unity, Basis for Prosperity’.
The 10-point agreement reached on 30 November 2025 in the presence of the Right Honorable Prime Minister had prepared a new basis for unity and understanding and institutional stability within the NRNA. The 12th World Conference and International Congress were held in a unified manner by implementing the agreement.
Out of the 4,286 delegates of the conference, more than 400 delegates were physically present in Kathmandu while the remaining delegates participated online. The Nepali community across the globe expresses the following commitments for Nepal’s prosperity, development and welfare of the worldwide Nepali community through the Conference.
1. The Association has also urged the government to create a simple, easy and conducive environment to bring investment of Non-Resident Nepalis to Nepal and to make legal reforms. The Summit is committed to encouraging investment of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) in building a prosperous Nepal that will help create jobs, entrepreneurship and develop physical infrastructure and improve the living standard of Nepalis.
2. To increase the participation of Non-Resident Nepalese, to open bank accounts for the trading of movable and immovable property, investment through securities, and to repatriate investment, to establish a separate body to manage the investment of Non-Resident Nepalese and to facilitate all these activities, NRN Act, Citizenship Act, Income Tax Act, Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act, The conference urges the Government of Nepal to amend the Land Revenue Act and Regulations. Likewise, the committee has demanded that the limit of securities issued by the NRNA Nepal Development Fund established with the joint investment of the Government of Nepal and Non-Resident Nepalese (NRNs) be increased to 85 percent immediately.
3. We are deeply concerned and serious about the current situation in the Middle East. The conference pledges to strengthen its collaboration with the Government of Nepal and international agencies to support the relief, rescue and rehabilitation of Nepalis residing in different parts of the Middle East.
4. The conference has demanded the concerned bodies to amend the Act as soon as possible for legal and policy reforms related to the implementation of Non-Resident Nepali Citizenship (NRC) so that the economic, social and cultural rights enshrined in the Constitution of Nepal can be effectively implemented.
5. This conference commits to initiate policy reforms and cooperation in collaboration with the concerned countries, international organizations and the Government of Nepal to ensure the safety, rights and decent employment of Nepali workers working in different countries of the world.
6. Initiatives will be taken through education, cultural programs and digital media to connect the second generation of youths born and raised abroad with Nepali-speaking, foreign citizens of Nepalese origin (PNOs), culture, history and
identity.
7. Nepali experts, scientists, researchers and researchers from all over the world will collaborate to contribute to Nepal’s development through exchange of knowledge, technology and innovation.
8. We will encourage non-resident Nepali investment in hydropower, agriculture, tourism, information technology and innovation-oriented industries and work with the Government of Nepal to create investment-friendly environment.
9. is committed to strengthen the campaign of making Nepal known to the world by promoting Nepali language, art, culture, tradition and tourism at the international level through the Nepali community living abroad
10. expresses the collective resolve to contribute to building a prosperous, inclusive and self-reliant Nepal by bringing into practice the slogan “Our Unity, Basis for Prosperity” by linking the unity, knowledge, experience and capital of Nepalese around the
world with Nepal.
11. The newly elected leadership of NRNA from the 12th World Conference and Unity General Convention expresses its commitment to cooperate with the new government with continuous support.
