. U.S. President Donald Trump has said the U.S.-Israel war with Iran is “unlikely” likely to end this week. He reiterated his claim that the conflict would end “soon”.

“I don’t think so, but it’s going to end very soon,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday, when asked if the war would end this week. “It won’t take long, it will be over soon,” he said. ”

Trump also said he would soon announce the names of countries that have agreed to join the US alliance to protect ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It is considered very important because it supplies about 20 percent of the world’s oil through this sea route.

But many U.S. allies have either explicitly expressed their support for the proposed U.S. security alliance or have refused to join. Trump also criticized European allies for their reluctance to do so.

Meanwhile, the European Union’s top diplomat, Kaya Kalas, told reporters in Brussels that Europe was not interested in a protracted war. “This is not a European war, but its impact is linked to Europe’s interests,” he said.

The United States and Israel launched a massive attack on Iran on February 28. Since then, the conflict has disrupted shipments on international waterways, soared oil prices and destabilized the global economy.
