Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Laxman Thapa has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ela Hotel and Resort.
The Board of Directors of IME Hospitality appointed Thapa to the post effective from March 5.
Thapa has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality management sector. He has also worked in high-end hotels, resorts and casinos in various countries including Nepal, Vanuatu, the Maldives, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Prior to joining IME Hospitality, Mr. Thapa was the Chief Operating Officer of Siddhartha Hospitality Group. During this period, he led the operation of more than 30 hotels, resorts, cafes and venues.
Before that, he has worked in various leadership roles at Hotel Yak and Yeti in Kathmandu, Iririki Island Resort and Jewel Casino in Vanuatu, CG Hospitality in Chitwan and Tiger Palace Resort in Bhairahawa.
He also has experience working with international brands such as Le Meridien Dubai, The Westin Langkawi, Sheraton Maldives, Aloft Abu Dhabi and Rosewood Jeddah.
According to the company, Thapa’s international experience and leadership skills in Nepal will contribute to improve the quality of service and strengthen the operations of IME Hospitality.
Under IME Hospitality, the company manages various hotels and resorts including Hotel Le Himalaya in Lazimpat, Lakeside Retreat in Pokhara, Hotel Ila in Baglung and Gaindakot.
IME Hospitality is a subsidiary of IME Group, a subsidiary of IME Group.
After the appointment, Thapa pledged to work to improve the level of service of Ela Hotel and Resort, strengthen service culture, expand its network to various tourist destinations in Nepal and achieve sustainable and result-oriented growth.
