Kathmandu. U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to take immediate action against the Cuban government as Venezuela faces a growing power crisis after oil exports were halted.

US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have both warned that the US could expand its influence in Cuba.

“The current dire situation is prompting Washington to act quickly on Cuba,” they said, highlighting the “extremely difficult situation” the island is facing.

Rubio said the island’s economy could not be brought back into rhythm because it was not run by a rules-based and political and government system.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel denounced the comments as a US threat against his country and said via social media X that Cuba would “resist any attack at all costs”.
