Mechi Customs collects Rs 11.5 billion revenue in 8 months

Kathmandu. The Mechi Customs Office has collected Rs 11.58 billion in revenue in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. This is 96.06 percent of the target set for the same period.

According to Ishwar Kumar Humagain, information officer at the office, the target was to collect Rs 12.05 billion revenue by mid-March of the current fiscal year. According to him, Rs 1.65 billion revenue has been collected in the month of February alone. That’s 110 of the target set for the month. 26 percent.

In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, Nepal collected Rs 4.89 billion in customs duty, Rs 221.7 million in exports, Rs 63.64 million under other customs income, Rs 6.29 million under export service charge and Rs 109.6 million under agricultural reform duty.

Similarly, Rs 29.42 crore has been collected under the head of excise duty, Rs 392.384 crore under the head of road repair and improvement tax, Rs 1.22 billion under the head of infrastructure tax, Rs 121,000 under the head of health risk tax, Rs 121,000 under the head of foreign production, Rs 4.20 billion under the value added tax (import) and Rs 132.354 million under the head of green tax.

The office has set an annual target of collecting total revenue of Rs 18.87 billion for the current fiscal year 2082/83, said Information Officer Humagain.
