Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has said that the private sector should move ahead being united for the formation of a new government.
Saying the private sector should not move ahead in a divided manner, Dhakal stressed that all sides should work together to give the message of unity. He also urged the FNCCI to elect the office-bearers unanimously as far as possible.
According to him, coordination and collaboration among all sides has become even more necessary as the number of posts has increased as per the current statute. “At least at the office-bearers’ level, it should be unanimous,” he said, “Senior vice-presidents and former presidents will have a special role in this.” ’
Recalling the example of the agreement reached with Dinesh Shrestha and Gyanendra Shrestha at the office of Shekhar Golchha when he was the vice-president, Dhakal said that the same practice should be repeated at present as well.
He said that if there is consensus among the office-bearers, the demands of the private sector can be put forward clearly and effectively with the government.
